I was told that you DO NOT have to have a militart ID or have any association with the military in order to take a Dantes Test. Fact or Fallacy =)?

Go here to find a testing center that will administer DSST (DANTES) in your area. If at all possible, you want a center that does Internet-Based Testing (IBT). Otherwise, you will be taking paper-and-pencil tests and you will have to wait for your results afterward. Personally, I would drive an extra twenty miles to get to an IBT site -- it's worth it.
