I found a place to get really cheap credits if you are in Law Enforcement. The website is The Backup Training Corporation | Home They offer courses on CD FREE to those in Law Enforcement and through an agreement with North Idaho Community College you can get up to 17 credits for a mere $10 a credit hour. The only other cost is shipping to receive the CD's which runs at $6 per CD.

I have completed 4 of the courses so far and have found them to be very informative and useful professionally. On the main page if you click on frequently asked questions you can find which courses you need to take to get credit. You also get a certificate for each course you complete. They have over 45 courses to choose from.

According to their website:

Everything is contained in the CD. They have interactive questions that you type in your response and the answers are saved on your hard drive until you finish the course then there is a button to click to upload your answers to their server. There is also multiple choice questions at the end of every section and a final exam, which are all on the CD. The questions are all very straightforward, in fact instead of answering the question right away you can click forward to the next screen and it will give you the answers then you can back click and answer it.

1. You need at least 8 hours in the course to get credit, but you can probably finish them a little faster and just leave it open to get up to the 8 hours.

2. If you go to the website and click on FAQ and click on the link about college credit it will give you a break down of which courses you need to get credit. They group several courses together to make up a 1, 2, or 3 credit "course" from the community college. By my count you have to do 32 of these courses to get the 17 credit hours. Only a specific set of courses has been approved to be equal to certain courses from the college if that makes sense.
