    Default PHR/SPHR Certifications?

I'm looking for study material for either the PHR or SPHR cert.

Here are my google search results:
    1. PHR & SPHR Exam Study Guide Reviews PHR & SPHR Test Prep Tips - Improve PHR & SPHR Test Score Results - Answer PHR & SPHR Test Course Sample Practice Test Questions with PHR & SPHR Exam Secrets - Go Stress Free from PHR & SPHR Test Registration to PH
    $39.95 for printed study guide

    2. HRCP - Human Resource Certification Preparation
    $25 for 500 flashcards

I'm leaning towards #1 but I'm not sure...Any recommendations will be appreciated.

There is a recommendation on one of the threads on this site for a source for studying, but that book is used for the PHR/SPHR exam. If you look on Amazon, you can read the customer comments. The one recommended on the IC discussion board got rave reviews.

I'm also looking to sit for the PHR exam and planned on buying the book. I wish I could remember the name of it but it has PHR/SPHR in the title.

This is a 500+ page textbook. I plan on getting the book to use as reference later, but for the exam I was hoping for something more like the IC flashcards. This format has worked for me so far, and I'm hoping for the same with the HR exams as well.

Has anyone taken these exams? If so, what study materials did you use? Any feedback would help take the edge off... ! My exam anxiety is a bear!

Okay, fast forward to June 08, I used Mo-Media alone but it wasn't enough. Plus I was right in the middle of two courses for my MBA program when the exam date sneaked up on me. I took the SPHR exam. The passing score was 500 and my score was 450...stinger! So now that I am out of school I may just have to take the course from SHRM for $600 unless I can find something better and less expensive. Does anyone have any experience with the SPHR exam and more to the point, what study materials do you recommend?

    Thanks in advance.

"PHR / SPHR: Professional in Human Resources Certification Study Guide" by Anne Bogardus has gotten consistent praise on the SHRM forum as a study aid for the certification. Since I don't have any exempt-level experience yet, I can't speak from personal experience.

It seems unlikely that IC would ever cover a professional certification exam, darn it...

SHRM = Society for Human Resource Management, the main professional organization for HR pros. The forum is for SHRM members only. Membership is $160 a year, but if you haven't graduated yet you're eligible for the $35 student rate. The SHRM magazine is fairly useless, but the white papers and forum access are worth the money - and there's a message area on the forum dedicated to the certification exams!
