I took my very last clep test tonight (financial accounting) seems funny to have no more CLEPs I can take. Left to go Penn Foster Managerial Accounting, DSST Statistics, and TECEP Business Policy. Then finished.

Congrats, Judy! Just curious - do have any immediate plans for your BS-IS degree? What was the motivating factor behind getting it? Randal |

I have over 20 years experience in the IT field already, so no immediate plans for the degree (but I find myself researching masters programs now). I did this for personal satisfaction. Since I have been married my husband finished his bachelors and masters, my oldest child finished a bachelors and masters, and my youngest graduates with her bachelors in May and is applying to grad schools. In that time period (prior to kids) I managed an associates and nearly finished a bachelors when the kids were little. I just decided I wanted to finish up before both my kids got done. I figured it out recently, since the majority of the AS didn't count towards this degree (to old, most IT courses were to old as well) by the time I get finished I will have taken approximately 200 credits worth of courses to get a bachelors, with I think 135 showing on my excelsiors transcript. To make a long story short I just figured it was time.

The financial accounting clep was not too bad for me, I would have done better if I had stuck to my normal study routine of at least 2 weeks (to include 2 weekends) but I was tired of the subject and took it after a 1 1/2. Use the specific exam feedback. I used IC and the REA study guide mainly for this. I did take a look at the online sites that Snaz posted for just the fin acct stuff one day as well. The one thing I took from one of the sites that I liked was the acryonym DEAD - Debits increase Expenses, Assets, and Dividends. It struck my morbid sense of humor and I didn't forget it either.
