Now I understand how it feels to get a passing grade and kill an entire semester's worth of work in a sitting! I took and passed my first two DANTES tests ever today - Criminal Justice and Fundamentals of Algebra. I feel so great about it that I couldn't wait to get home to set up one of those cool signature files that you guys all have!!
No need to do details here - I'm on my way to the exam specific board to post, but lemme say one thing.... Algebra was NO JOKE. I was so frustrated at my lack of knowledge, and really upset that I guessed at so many... I mean it - I guessed at least 45 questions (of the total 79) and I wasn't even narrowing down.... I guessed 'B' 45 times. I can't believe I passed... just barely with a 47 (the exact req'd pass score). Thanks to everyone for all the help on the Criminal Justice! Instantcert and this board was all I used!! Now here's my sweet new sig file.....

Thanks - and it's my pleasure to share all I can: CJ DSST: I studied for 5 days straight (about 11pm to about 2am - worst time to study as far as brain capacity goes, but great time b/c everyone's asleep). I USED IC ONLY. Call me crazy, but I did not look at any other study methods, books, etc, and I didn't even read the DSST Fact Sheet until the last night of study. I have access to, but did not use the Peterson's Air Force Practice Tests. The extent of my life's experience and/or previous knowledge of Criminal Justice, is limited to the fact that I was a crazy teeneager. LOTS of juvenile justice system, juvenile courts, juvenile corrections questions. Hope this helps! Go kick some drug/alcohol butt and let me know how u do!!

The test was 106 questions, and I will not find out what I made on it until 14 days.....
the IC questions really helped me out. I did also use the air force practice tests to see what was on there. I think by studying the IC questions and maybe just taking one of the practice test it should be easy. I really think I passed!!! And thanks for the information on CJ. |

OH! How do you stand it?!?!?! I could never wait for exam results... in fact, I drove an extra full hour to a testing center that offered my exams on the computer because you know pass or fail before even standing up. Also, computer exams (well, DSST anyway...) takes 7 to 10 days to get results to your school whereas pencil/paper takes 4 to 6 weeks.
Good luck on it - hope you passed! ![]()
