Default Thanks to Instacert and the people on these forums

I went back to college in August 2007 after a 30 year absence. Between my old transfer credits and my local degree requirements, I had a gap of 27 credits of electives to make up.

I happened upon Instacert after searching the web for some advice. It was just my luck. After reading the forums I was convinced that I would not need to step into a class room to obtain my 27 credits.

I joined Intracert and put together a plan. I was going to take one Clep exam on the 1st Saturday of every month until I was finished.

Well, I took my last exam this morning. Here is how it worked out:

September Information Systems and Computer Apps 68 3 credits
October Principles of Mgmt 72 3 credits
November Interpreting and Anal Literature 58 6 credits
December Principles of Marketing 74 3 credits
January Social Sciences and History 62 6 credits
    February Humanities 64 6 credits

I am glad to be finished with this stage of my journey.

I could not have accomplished this without Instacert flashcards and forums. I used both exclusively to prepare.

For every exam I reviewed the flashcards 2 to 3 times by just reading them. I never attempted to answer the questions. Just read the questions, the answers and the additional information.

I took the 3 petersons exams for A&I Lit, Social Science/History, and Humanities. Thanks to the forums for the helpful codes The practice exams for A&I helped to get you used to the style of reading that you would enounter in the exam.

I bought the Clep study guide with all the exams. The night before each exam, I would take the practice exam from the guide. I would review all the questions that I missed. I feel that Instacert is more than enough to pass all the exams that I took. The practice exams help with your confidence.

The advice on the specific exam feedback section is right on. I don't have anything else that would add value to the great information that others have already provided. Use it as a study guide. It will certainly help you focus.

Thanks to everyone on the forums, the moderators who keep things moving along and organizated and to Steve for creating this valuable site.

While this is my 1st post. I have been an active listener and appreciate all the support that everyone provides each other.

Good luck to all as you continue to persue you goals and dreams.

    Jim

    Jim,

I also went back to college after a 30 year absence (like a lot of others here), so I know just how proud you must feel about finally earning that degree after all this time! I'm sure your story will be an inspiration to others who may feel it's too late or that they just can't do it. Thanks for a great post and sharing all that you did. I wish you all the best in your future endeavors!

    CONGRATULATIONS!!

    Take care,
    JoAnne
