OK, I won't be able to answer this for TESC students, but Christine Foley from Excelsior just confirmed that I can take the following to satisfy the respective requirements:

ALEK-0003 College Algebra
ALEK-0008 Business Statistics

I've written to ALEKS to verify how the credits can be achieved (is it just by completing the courses or if there would be other requirements). Will update this thread when I get a reply.

I tried out ALEKS yesterday and I must say I'm hooked! I'm now spending whatever free time I get 'ALEKSing'. I really like how the system keeps track of the learning requirements and how it has this intelligent system that keeps refreshing knowledge and skills on a periodic basis, it really takes the pain off making sure you're fulfilling the requirements before an exam.

One interesting thing I noticed is that when I signed up for the trial, I picked College Algebra as the subject. A couple of hours later, I decided I really like it and went ahead to order a one month subscription (I thought this would be a very useful learning tool even if I don't get credit for completing the course). The system automatically changed my subject title from College Algebra to PreCalculus without Trigonometry. When I tried to fix this, I was unable to find College Algebra among the list (I found a title called 'prep for College Algebra' among other 'prep for' courses) . The system tells you when you're in the process of signing up that you can change the subject at any point without any surcharge so I thought let me go ahead and we shall see. Once I was done with the signup I was taken back to my same progress pie chart that I had on the trial College Algebra but now the title was PreCalculus without Trigonometry (so it seems that this is the same subject with different titles). Now I just need to make sure this is the same ACE approved course ALEK-0003. I should also check out the 'prep' titles, see what's the difference.

I am sure that you won't want to be tortured for 12 weeks, but if you do, I took TESC's Math for Liberal Arts. It is MAT105 and would meet the math requirement for any degree except business. It really was very easy- minimal amount of homework and only up to basic basic algebra. (now, I say easy because I think others would call it easy- I had never taken algebra in high school- so for me it was a little uncomfortable) There was a tiny bit of consumer math and a tiny bit of graphing dots on a grid to make a picture
Seriously, you should consider it. The hardest part for me was squeaking out the $$$$ to buy the textbook! Ouch!

For the business degree at TESC you are required to take Qualitive Business Analysis (which to my knowledge is does not have a test equivelant) OR Precalculus. You are also required to take Statistics . The College Math CLEP is relatively easy, but again goes towards electives with TESC business.
