i am now preparing for Natural science and i tried the cracking clep test and got 85/120 before i even start studying. and now i am gonna try the official study test too.

if i passed that one too, am i ready for the exam? or i have to study a little bit more

Make sure you read and understand the explanations for your wrong answers (and what the heck, your right answers too) and I would say you are ready to pass. If it were me, I'd be looking for about a 75% level on the Official Guide practice exam, but I'm pretty cautious.

For what it's worth, I got 39/60 the first time I tried the official CLEP practice test. That probably would have translated into a passing score on the actual test. But after taking the real test today, I'm so glad I didn't go and take it on the strength of that alone! I would have soooo flunked.

Where can I find the official Clep practice test? Is it sold as a part of the individual subject guides put out by the College Board?

Can someone tell me which company's practice exam scores most closely align to the score they received on their CLEP exam? I'm doing fine on REA, but Peterson's... not so much so far.

I've never tried a Peterson's test, but everything I've heard says they are harder than the real thing. I have consistently found the REA tests to be easier than the real thing.

The CLEP practice tests are all available in one book--this one:

I don't know if you can get them individually or not....I've never tried. If you plan to take more than one CLEP, I'd probably go ahead and invest in this book. I have found it very helpful.

Isn't there a Peterson's practice test to try??? I trust that more than CLEP's stuff.... since I did really well on one of their practice tests....and flunked the actual test. If you can pass the Peterson's -- take the actual test tomorrow. Best wishes!~

Thanks for the information. Do you (or anyone else) know what score on a Peterson's exam should indicate that I'm ready to take the exam (they seem to give you a raw score and a percentile score... if you respond, please clarify which one you are referring to).

^^ well, they're going to tell you how many questions you got right - so - just turn that number into a percentage -- and hope that percentage is at or above 50%. If you can get that -- you can pass the actual test. (Peterson's practice test on the Air Force website)

Okay thanks. I just wasn't sure if their 50% was the rough equivalent to 50% on the actual CLEP. Thanks for clearing that up!

I just took the Natural Sciences exam and passed with a 65.

I would say that the official CLEP study guide questions were the best gauge for me on how I ultimately did on the test. I NEVER did well on the Peterson's... but reviewing the sample tests did help me prepare for the real test.
