Default Drug/Alcohol DSST prep- HELP PLS!

For anyone who has taken this exam,
The exam specific board has a lot of posts pointing to this federal chart but this is soooo much info - how much of this is really recommended or what sections specifically are recommended? I'm getting stressed out because this just looks like so much! Thanks for any help!

No need to panic, trust me. I reviewed the chart you attached (reviewed, I didn't memorize it), reviewed some of the materials under the "specific exam feedback link," took a couple of Peterson's practice tests, and primarily used Instantcert. I ended up with a 61, which I was pleased with, especially since it was the first DSST test I had ever taken.

Spend some time on instantcert, look over the information in the exam feedback link, and you should be fine.

    Good Luck!

don't go too crazy remembering every drug and the properties but I would recommend that you remember which drugs are stimulants and which are depressants.

    They will ask questions like

    Which classification is Alcohol

    Stimulant
    Depressant

    Questions similar to

Know about peyote. You'll do fine just get a general idea of what drugs do what.

    Default Drugs DSST

I just took this test about 2 weeks ago, I'm awaiting results. I used the info from the other threads on what to study and as far as that chart goes, like they've said, you need to know all of it to cover all angles. I studied a decent bit, thought it was going to be relatively easy and was surprised to find it was more difficult than I expected. The general notes on what to study are covered in detail in the other threads. I think those are all in line with what you need to know. I wish I could give you better info, after I walk out of a class, I sort of do a data dump and get ready for the next test. Like someone posted before, don't take any test lightly. I think this is true more for UL than lower level. UL's come at you with more analytical type questions that require deeper thought. Anyway, look at the previous threads because I think they cover a lot of what's on the test. I do know that they ask questions from the chart, just not quite the way I studied. A fair amount of studying should get you through. Good luck.

By the way, I decided to use InstaCert for this and have decided to stay w/it for now.

I simply memorized the IC cards and reviewed the chart about 15 minutes before going into the testing room. There was a question or two from the chart but nothing staggering. I got an "A" on the exam...I'm sure you can too! It's not that bad at all and I found the study quite interesting. Lee

I agree that it's not terribly difficult. If you can memorize like BW, more power to you. Wish I had those powers. That's why I'm just a lowly Squire.

    What is that 'squire' stuff?!?!?!
Ok, so I thought maybe I'd punk out for lack of preparedness, but I'm gonna take this exam in the morning. I'm doing well with the IC flashcards and will stay up most of the night working with them and with Petersons. I truly shouldn't be taking the exam, but I'm sometimes a gambler. We'll see what happens. Thanks all!

(oh, please - someone tell me about squires, lords, knights, etc)

    Thumbs up Thank You!!!

Thanks to all who responded in this thread and to me personally via PM... I stayed up all night working with the IC flashcards and didn't have time to study by any other methods.
Passed this test with a 57 this morning!

My total study time for this exam was about 11 hours including short breaks and three 30-minute power naps. I was reviewing the 'exam specific' notes even as I walked into the test center.

    Thanks again!!
