There might be a COMEX or REA book for it....you might check on that. And you might practice writing a few essays under the 45-minute time limit.

Look for any published material on "Writing Under Pressure". Good Luck!

    Default Eng. comp advise

Hi, I just took it (cold)!... and passed w/ an "A". Instantcert has the section where you have to I.D. terms like misplaced modifiers etc. On the test you didn't have to know that- just that it was wrong/ right. It had some basic stuff on poetry- such as "what does (sentence) make reference to?" It's not too difficult. One thing I would know however is what is contained in the bibliography, appendix, table, etc. of a book. Last but not least KNOW how to cite references. I learned this from my EC class and it will be vital for you to know. It's NOT that hard to understand in terms of recognition. For example they will ask you such and such passage was taken from
    a. Trade journal
    b. magazine
    c. personal contact
    d. newspaper.
This is where it is important to recognize (as opposed to learn) symbols. There are a million free publications that talk about how to cite references. Grab one and good luck!

    Default freshman College Comp

Thanks. Greatly appreciate your help. I am a little nervous because I am not doing very well on instantcert, specially on poetry section and bibliography.
I am taking the test on March 10th, will post the result and more helpful info after.
