Clearly the B&M college experience has nothing to do with going to class. She does seem to have the paying too much for books you aren't going to use thing down though.

Is your mom into toga parties and drinking cheap beer through a tube while two drunken jocks, chanting "chug, chug, chug", hold her upside down by her ankles?

Rather than spending all that extra money and wasting all that extra time going through the B&M college experience, she could just go to Spring Break for a week down in Daytona Beach. She can get the whole "college experience" out of her system and then perhaps be ready to settle down and pass a few CLEPs.

    Just teasing,

Awesome!!! I wish we had PC-based tests. Every test I have taken was paper-based and had to wait weeks for results.
    Again, great job. ICS

She says she wants to take the class at the community college because she wants the "college experience"!!!! Whatever that means!![/quote]
    >>

That's cool, my classes have had a few folks like that too. I think people assume college is this really grand educational profound place where one receives knowledge. She probably feels like she missed something when she was younger. In any event, let her get it out of her system. It'll probably take exactly the length of time it takes you to get YOUR degree This isn't the end- people will start to wonder- to ask questions- to judge you....oh it's going to happen.....do you really think your learning anything by....ttttt testing??? What are you thinking????

So, next time you mom tells you you should get the experience (politely) let her know you'd rather get the degree.

    Cool Well Put Jennifer

Very well put Jennifer...Snazzlefrag...you are !!!

I said previously that nobody in my family seems to like my advice. I've been trying to get my mother and brother on the CLEP bandwagon, and he too was talking about taking classes at a community college!!!

People are funny. So I guess when I'm done with a bachelor's degree in less than 12 months without stepping a toe in a college classroom, maybe then someone will start taking notice!!!

    But Hey...what do I know!!!!

That's why I love this forum. I forgot to tell you guys this but when I finished my CLEP test, I chatted with the test administrator for close to an hour. She was completing her Masters at University of Phoenix, and I was sharing with her my plans through CLEP and DANTES. She pulled a notepad out and began to write on it while saying, "Let me give you this website to check out." I watched her as she began to write I...N...S...

Then I said let me guess...InstantCert.Com...She looked at me and smiled. I said I am already a member.....BOOYAAAAA!!!!!!

I see this thing turning into a movement. I am on here religiously every day or every other day. I love reading peoples questions and struggles...along with their successes and advice. You guys are like my Testing Out Support Group!!!!!

Best wishes to us all on our journey to a better education....and hopefully better pay!!!

    From a loyal degree seeker,

    Marshall
