I currently work full time, and I'm starting back to school to get a BBA. Since I"ll have to take time off work to take the tests, I would like to cram as much into one day as possible.

How many tests would you recommend I take in one day?

I would suggest taking one at a time if you are just starting out. I couldn't gauge from your post if you've ever taken a CLEP before.

The only reason I say "just one" is because I know how mentally draining tests can be for me, and that's when I'm prepared!!! I was totally prepared to pass the Principles of Management CLEP and did with a 68. My administrator asked me if I wanted to take another one and I said, "No Way!" One at a time is enough for me.

The second reason is because of the money and time issue. I would hate to fail a test all because I put too much pressure on myself. Then on top of losing your money for the test & administrative fee, you have to wait 6 months before you can take it again.

However, there are some people who are the "exception" and not the rule. I don't know what kind of test taker you are or what you are capable of, so you can take my advice with a grain of salt. It is just my advice.

In my opinion it depends on the person. For myself I have taken the following groups on the same days:

College Algebra
Freshman College Composition (I later found out TESC would not accept this one )

U.S. History I
Analyzing & Interpreting Literature

Introductory Sociology
Introductory Psychology

Princples of Management
Principles of Supervision

I enjoy English (it comes easily to me) and didin't even really study for FCC and A&I Lit. So when I did those sets I took Algebra and U.S. History I first. As for the last two sets I believe that is a lot of overlap between sociology and psychology, and I think everyone, who has taken managemet and supervision, will agree if you study for one you should be able to do the other one. So, all in all, if you feel comfortable with the material, and you are willing to risk it, you should go for it. It does not get much better than to walk out of your testing center with nine credits. That is what a full-time B&M college student would take more than half a semester to get!

Thanks for all the replies. I've worked in the Sales & Marketing field for 10 years, so I feel fairly comfortable with the material. I have only begun to study for the Principles of Management CLEP. I'm on chapter 7 of 14. I've taken the Peterson's practice exam for Management and scored a 78, and I've taken another one for the Marketing and scored a 74 without any prior studying. I have a book for each of the tests and I plan on completing them before taking the CLEP. My school doesn't assign a letter grade, just pass and they give you credit for the class. They do however only allow you to get credit for 30 semester hours by exam.

It took me about 35 minutes to finish each Peterson's exam. I've never taken a CLEP before.

I was planning on scheduling the Principles of Management and Principles of Marketing CLEP for the same day just to save some time. I hope I can make it through both.

Well Rygyga...based on the information you provided I say, "Go For It." It sounds like you'll do just fine. Like ShotoJuku says all the time, "A Pass is a Pass."

I think Management and Marketing can be done in the same day...they are both relatively easy...good luck, let us know how you do...

Well, I just called the testing center and they only allow one exam per day. It is located near my office, so I'm just going to try to get through it on my lunch hour. My first one is scheduled for May 1st at 1:30. My second is scheduled for May 8.

My testing center said the same thing yours did. But I've finished most of the tests so far in 30-35 minutes, so I've convinced them to allow me to do 2 next time. I'll be travelling for most of May, so I don't want to fall behind.
