    Default Clep Overlap?

Newbie here so please forgive my ignorance.

Does receiving credit for a general CLEP mean I will not receive credit for one of the 3 credit CLEPs that cover some overlapping material.

In other words, if I take the general CLEP: Social Science & History, could I then take US History I & II, and American Government to end up with 15 credits or is this overlapping material?

    Thanks!

This would depend on your institution, but at the Big Three, these are not considered duplicate credits. (Someone can correct me if I'm wrong about COSC and TESC.)
