I just started using IC a couple of days ago because I am trying to CLEP Biology, so I don't know much about the site. I didn't know there were other science tests other than biology. Where do u find them?
I also have a question for the people that have already taken the Biology CLEP test. I have been studying ALLL of the 878 questions in the biology section...do they use the same questions just worded differently on the test or what? So far, I have the first three sections down. If I know all sections do u think I will be able to pass or should I look into something else. I am also going to take the Peterson tests. |

I took CLEP College Mathematics for 6 credits. I'm really intimated by Math, but I found this test very easy. It was all High-School math. The only thing new that I had to learn was "Set Theory", which was pretty simple.

I think most people would agree that the Biology or the Natural Science exam is the easier of the CLEP science tests. I decided on Biology because I had IC prep, which for me is an important factor, and I am not really good at memorizing formulas and such. The Natural Science exam is 50% Biology 50% Physical Science. The following gives the compete break down for all the CLEP Science exams:CLEP: Exam Descriptions. However, there is also another alternative. There are several three credit (all of the CLEP sciences are six credits) DSST options: Astronomy, Environment and Humanity: The Race to Save the Planet, Principles of Physical Science I, and Physical Geology. Check out there breakdowns here: The DSST Program : Students&Adult Learners. It really all boils down to what your school will accept, whether you need three or six credits, and what area you have the most knowledge in and/or are most interested in.

Quote:
mdd0401, Biology is one of the tests that IC has a ton of questions for. On the actual test there will only be 115 questions, all of which will be multible choice. So, that means you really just need to recognize the correct answer or eliminate the wrong answers. I would recommend going through all the IC sections until you are comfortable with the material, taking the Peterson's tests (I was scoring in the sixties before I took the test and made a 61 on the actual test), and also browsing through your local library or used bookstore for material. I found an amazing little 150 page cram guide for a College Biology course that cost me six or seven dollars, at my local Half-Price Books. As a bonus it came pre-highlighted. It solidified a lot of the concepts I had been studying on IC.

Thank you for your help! I also have a college text book I have been using some. I am taking my test next Tuesday so I feel kind of rushed! I just hope I can hold on to this information until after the test!
If I pass this test, how will I know what kind of grade I get? |

Your score will be a number between 20 and 80. For most schools a 50 is a pass. Right after you finish the test you will be asked if you want to cancel your score or report it. Click Report Score and your score will pop up. Good Luck!!

ty all, I hate math as well and I am intimidated by it as one of you posted as well.
I hope it is all high school math. Whats the chances its just adding anyway thanks again, I am going to go for the bio in the science as i need it any way as a prereq for the next school I am trying for. I don't need it for this degree Iam going for now. Does anyone have a bio rea study manual they could give up via the net. Or at least the software that usually comes with it. Iam more of a visual learner than reading. A.D.D sucks !!! ![]()
