    Default grrrrrrrrrrrrrr Testing Centers

I'm ready to take 6 clep exams. Its frustrating because finding a center is harder than studying for any of these exams.....

I live in the San Francisco area and I can't find any testing centers!!! Theres about 15 "testing facililities" in a 75 mile radius, but they're all crap.

The university of phoenix test centers say they are booked with CLEP appointments until July.

The Travis Air Force Base testing center won't let me on premis without a military sponsor, and the testing facility itself can't give one.

The GoldenGate universities require that I be an enrolled student to take the exam.

Any ideas? I'm thinking of paying the $55 application fee for Goldengate and pretending to be a student.......

See this thread where I posted my run-down on Bay Area test centers (partway down). It is unfortunate that it is so hard to find an available good test center in this area. If it weren't for UOP Fairfield, I'd be screwed. I love that place, even if it is a drive.

Thanks Alix. I think you're right with uop in fairfield. I've spent several hours calling centers in the area. Whats interesting is that the list of centers on the Dantes website is different from ETS Clep's website, even though most centers offer both.

I'll be trying out Foothill College's test center (Los Altos Hills) later this week and I'll try to remember to let you know how it is. It is Dantes-only and proctoring fees are $25/hour (one hour minimum, charged in 15 min. increments after that). Their schedule has lots of availability -- even though they aren't convenient for me and cost a little more than UOP, I want to get another exam in before I have surgery next week, so I'm willing to go there.

It would be interesting to find out about availability at National University (San Jose). Because Fairfield is closer to me, I stopped pursuing National University and still don't know about them.

Let me know if you find out anything new!

I took here's to your health today at William Jessup in San Jose. The school charged $15, along with the $70 for Dantes. I was in and out in 40 minutes and they were extremely friendly. Definitely be back for more tests.

housemzk, that's fabulous! Do they do CLEP, too, or just Dantes?

Glad you found that on their site, Urbancowboy. I have more CLEPs than Dantes left, I think, so that will come in handy.

I'm 60 miles from San Jose, but that's where my family lives, so I could bundle some testing together with other things. It will especially come in handy if I want to do more testing than UOP Fairfield has time slots for. Maybe the lower admin fee can make up for some of the gas.

just called william jessup. The woman seemed half asleep. She said they didn't administer cleps and found the website inconsistency very interesting..... Anyways she mentioned that dantes exams should be booked 2 weeks in advance, and she seemed to imply that they couldn't be taken back to back same day, but rather scheduled on separate days.
