    Default Exhausting experience

I just had one lone test left to take and I'd be DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our local test center is just 20 minutes away and does online DSSTs. But they're STILL have technical problems so last week I asked them to order a paper test. They said they'd have it overnighted. I was due to take the test this morning. Being a suspicious sort of person, I called before I went over there this morning. Nope, no tests. New proctor. Don't know when tests will be in. They call DSST to see if DSST will give them a tracking number or something but all DSST will do is say they'll probably be in by, say, the end of this week.

    I ain't waitin'.

So I got online to find another test center. Of the four I called, one only offers ONE particular DSST, two others don't even offer the tests anymore (wow, thanks for keeping the site updated, DSST.......NOT!). One of them returns my voicemail and says yes, I can come TODAY! GREAT!

So I did. It was a 1.5 hour drive, for a paper DSST. Nice people, nice college but the test took me about two hours, which is unusual for me. Then a 1.5 hour drive home and I don't even know my score!!!! And it's for my major, so if I flunk it I have to either wait six months or opt for another TESC course.

I'm just sorta frazzled. I was really stressed about this test anyway and my left eye twitched most of the time and I felt like I guessed at about 3/4 the questions, in spite of 20 or so study hours. I detest studying REAL information and then getting these cheesy "obscure weird detail" questions on the test, don't you?

So instead of coming home in glorious triumph at being DONE WITH SCHOOL, I'm coming home all worn out in a state of trepidation. *sniff*

Oh well, I better stop griping....at least I got to take the thing today and I don't have to study for a week or two at the least.

I think I need to eat some chocolate.

    Default That was an ordeal

I have done all my DSST test as paper and pencil, I know that feeling of coming home exhausted feeling like a failure. You will spend the next 1-5 weeks running to the mailbox everyday looking for your results. It is nerveracking. Maybe you will be lucky like me, each result only took 5-7 working DAYS to reach me and although I was sure I failed I passed everyone.

    Good Luck

By the way, what IS the procedure for getting your grade back? The proctor said it just gets reported to TESC but will I get something in the mail also?

I know how I feel. Yes, you will get a slip on paper with your grade on it. It's blue and white with black ink. Not that exciting.
