Hi. New here. One of my final choices for online schools is Utah Valley State College. I'm a Professional Pilot, and they take a huge chunk of all my ratings/certificates. However, I have to take the Compass Placement exam to get things started. Is there a study guide for the Compass? I googled it and alot of things showed up. Just afraid of some scam artists out there.

Either that, or I could just go to Excelsior! No test required.

I would go with excelsior, I am a little biased, they too take all of your exams and certs for credit. I know nothing about utah valley state college but I do know that there are a lot of people here that will be able to help you on your educational journey as an excelsior student. Lets not forget the advantage of going to excelsior is that you can take clep, dantes and ECE exams for nearly your entire degree.
