Default Passed US History II using Instantcert

I just passed US History II. I will leave specific feedback in that section. One noteworthy thing is that I used Instantcert almost exclusively as a study source for US History I and II. The point is that in my experience, at least for these two exams, if you study the flashcards AND the information that accompanies them you should definitely have enough information to pass. There have been several posts that state that instantcert alone is not enough. While that may be true and an accurate representation of some other people’s experience, I have not found that to be true. Admittedly it does require more thought that just regurgitating the facts presented on the flash cards but the information is there. However, I am not necessarily endorsing not using other sources of information to prepare. For me, instantcert has been enough to pass. Good luck everyone!

    Smile Congratulations!

Congratulations, Don, on adding 3 credits to your tally.

As to InstantCert, I've seen plenty of people here say they've passed tests using nothing else. They can't all be wrong... but I tried it for Western Civ I, and I'm about 75% sure that, using InstantCert alone, I either wouldn't have passed or would have passed by a very thin margin.

It might just come down to different learning styles and comfort levels. In addition to the rather capricious behavior of the WCI flashcards (details given in my exam feedback post on Western Civ I), I couldn't get a good grasp on chronology using the cards. That's not good in itself, and also, it added to my sense that I might not be getting all the information I needed. It's very hard to gauge that when everything is so scattered. I could have made notes from the cards and put those in chrono order (as I believe some have mentioned doing), but note-taking is so much easier using a book.

I didn't use InstantCert for WCII or US History I, so those might have been better.

I will swear by the flashcards all day long...I have never used anything but the flashcards other than CLEP and DSST study guides for the practice tests. In my opinion, there are very few exams that can not be easily passed by only using IC...Don't underestimate the flashcards baby...!!!
