Default DANTES History of the Vietnam War

    Hi All,

I am considering taking History of the Vietnam War exam (along with Civil War, and Modern Middle East) to complete a depth in History at Excelsior.

Obviously this exam is not covered by Instantcert, so I will be "on my own" so to speak. I'm actually surprised that Steve hasn't developed something for the Vietnam exam. He did such a good job on the other history exams that I would think he could put out an equally excellent Instantcert thingamajig for Vietnam too. Steve? Any thoughts?

Sparknotes.com has a nice free study guide online for this subject, and I also have a few other online sites that I will use. I'm pretty sure I can pull it off.

However, I wonder if anybody here has taken this exam. I doubt it, but you never know! I would appreciate any feedback anyone can provide regarding this exam.

    Anyone?.....Anyone?.....Bueller?.....Bueller? ::sound of crickets::

There is an old PBS series titled, "Vietnam, A Television History". It is eleven parts on 4 DVDs. It is a very good documentary on the war. I watched the series and read the "Idiots" and "Dummies" guide to the Vietnam War, took the test and scored a 73.

(I preferred the "dummies" guide over the "idiots" guide.)

    Good luck,

    Cederic,

    Welcome to the board!

Thank you for responding to my cry for help.

May I ask you a few more questions?... (that doesn't count as one of my questions)

    - Did you feel this exam was easy, hard, or in between?
    - How does it compare against other DANTES exams you have taken?
    - Are there any specific areas I should focus my studies on?
    - Anything to watch out for?
    - Did you by any chance save any of your study notes?

I am excited to find someone who has actually taken this exam....and somebody who ACED it to boot! Well done!

You're probably the second or third person in the history of InstantCert to mention that exam, so since there is so little perceived demand for it, we haven't done it.

We're working on English Comp right now, and hopefully will start pumping out upper-level ECE's in earnest, next...

Let us know how the exam goes though--if it sounds like a no-brainer, it may be worth adding later!

    Will do!

Maybe it is not mentioned very much BECAUSE it is not included on Instantcert. But I definitely think that the Upper Level ECEs should get priority.

Especially the Psychology exams...nudge nudge, wink wink!

Steve, for what it is worth, I would be very interested in taking this exam down the road.

    Thanks!

Man....NOW you go for the upper ECEs...after I've done the ones I need...=) Although, to be honest...your ORG behavior and ethics were very close to the ECE versions anyways.
