    Default Western Civilization II

Have any of you taken Western Civilization II CLEP? I'm planning on taking this 2.23.06, so any pointers would be great...such as, what you really wished you would have paid more attention to, etc...thanks in advance for any reponses!

    ViolinGirl,
I plan on taking this one next week or the week after. It's one of the two exam reasons I joined this site.

    Default You should be okay

I Clepped out of this in early December. I spent a week prepping for this class and it was of little help. My score was 65 and out of 100+ questions I only knew about a dozen answers. This is one of the harder Clep tests (most have been easy) I have taken. HOWEVER, I was able to eliminate and pass the test by a process of elimination because the alternative answers are usually way out in left field. I wouldn't stress it...you should be okay. Make sure you have a good over-all understanding of the different time periods...that was my biggest help! The instantCert for this test wasn't much help (although it was extremely helpful on other tests like psychology).

Thanks for asking, Scottcop1...no, I didn't. This is the first one I've failed, although I wasn't surprised, in one sense, because I felt really nervous, and had to guess almost every single one. Just in InstantCert's defense, however, I didn't use all of the resources (all of the sections, in other words) that InstantCert offers...so that probably would have helped.

    (Scottcop1, I've PMed you. )

Has anyone else taken the Western Civilization II CLEP? I need one course to graduate. I'm trying to decide if I should take Civil War DANTES, Western Civilzation II CLEP or just take the last class at my university. I would like to take the Western Civilization as it will give me immediate results. If I don't pass I can just take my final class traditional style. Not a lot of a people taking the Western Civilization tests here...

Default REA and Instacert aren't enough

I have tested out of 14 classes before taking Western Civ II CLEP (including Western Civ I) and this is the first one I haven't passed. REA and Instacert just didn't seem to cover what was actually on the test. There were a lot of maps (with numbers, no names) and questions around the maps. There were also a lot of quotes and "who said that" type questions.
