    Default Intro to Computing

Does anyone know how close the questions and answers on the actual Dante test are compared to the Peterson's practice exams. I am having no trouble with the Peterson's test, but I feel that some of those I can get because of the wording. If the actual test wording is very different, I don't know that I could find the answers as easily. Does that make since? I read the exam feedback and went through all the things Couchpotato suggested, I'm just having a hard time putting it together. Thanks.

I found the wording to be different than the Peterson exams. It was more vague. I thought it was more difficult than the Peterson exams. I had more programming than I had anticipated at least compared to the practice exams.

I'll have to respectfully disagree. The Peterson's exams are SIGNIFICANTLY more difficult than the actual exam. This was true for every exam that I took, but it was very apparent when I studied for Intro to Computing and the similar CLEP version, Info System. If you have a basic working knowledge of computers, than you can pass Intro to Computing. There are some tough questions, but there are enough ridiculously easy questions to even it out.

Don't let the Peterson's practice tests freak you out!

You are probably right about the actual information in the exam, that it is basically the same as in the practice exams. I just had more trouble with the wording in the exam as compared to the Petersons. The Peterson's was more straightforward than my exam. And as I said, there was more programming than in the practice exams and that is a weak area for me. You need a bit more than just a working knowledge of computers. I also took the revised exam which may have made a difference in how the Petersons compares to the exam.

I did fine in the exam but I was not sure if I was going to pass all the way through. So if you are a good test taker who is adept at interpreting test questions, then you will be fine.

You know, I had mentioned previously that I took the new one but that can't be right because the score was 63 and it would have been in the new range 0f 400 if it was the new one. I think I got in just before the change. I took it at the end of August.

Just back from Intro to Computing Dante. I would say 10% is exactly like the Peterson's test, another 40% or so is the info you learn from the Peterson's test. Now, the other 50%, Nothing like the Peterson's, but about 30% common knowledge if you can get around the obscure questioning and the other 20% I had never heard of. That all being said I did pull out a 443 even though I was sweating the results. Thank you for all the good luck and help.
