    Yes...it does feel kind of "furry" at times, doesn't it?! And I'm glad to hear you'll still be around to give some great input as always!

    Thanks for the tips on Human Growth and Development. I read your posting yesterday and regrouped a little bit. I took it today and passed with a 62. It was a bit more difficult than I had expected, but your tips on areas to focus on are right on target! Thanks, Again!

    Passed HG & Development yesterday with a 73. Yeah!!

    There were probably 7 -8 questions on theories of development with about half of those focused on the cognitive theory. Learning theories came next in quantity, maybe 4 -5 questions.

    Physical (biological) development was probably another 5 - 6 questions. The stages, nutrition, etc.

    Language development was a surpisingly fair portion of the exam. Can't remember how many questions but it seems as though quite a few dealt with the stages of language and what is typical for different levels as well as the learning process itself.

    People to know, as well as a basic understanding of their theories, would be Jean Piaget (lots!), Erik Erickson, Albert Bandura, Lawrence Kohlberg, Freud(some), Chomsky and Susan Carey (some.)

    I found this subject so interesting that I ended up doing a fair amount of side reading on Piaget and Erikson which I am sure was a help. I am also following Shoto's advice in this thread and have taken Intro. Soc and Intro. Psych. However, I do think that this is passable with just IC and looking up some of the main people/points in Wikipedia.

    I think that I am going to do Sociology next. After that, English Composition. If I pass those two all of my electives will be met, saving lots of time and money!

    I took HG&D last December. I studied about 90 minutes a day, every other day for 2 weeks. Used IC almost exclusively. I passed with a 75.

    Took this test in June and passed with a 63!! There were about 5 questions that I was unsure of, out of 90. InstantCert was a GREAT resource. I am a nurse, but this was still a tough one as I don't have kids and don't deal with them!

    I am a nurse, but this was still a tough one as I don't have kids and don't deal with them! That's better than the parents that DO HAVE kids and don't deal with them either. In my line of work that's "job security!"
