I am currently studying for Principles of Supervision and Here's to your Health. Anyone who has taken these Dantes tests and could offer input would be greatly appreciated. Need these 6 credits to graduate in May with a Business Degree.
Thanks for you help. Happy Studying!!! Last edited by rkca40 : 02-23-2006 at 10:39 AM. |

I agree. It's a basic high school health class in my opinion. I didn't study at all (not that I'm recommending this) for either exam and passed both. I'm sure the info on this site is more than enough to pass them.

Hi there! I am new to this program. My first test is "Here's to your Health. Wow, a lot of information! Now I am hoping the same questions are on the actual test. Are you going to take any Clep exams also? I need 21 credits to graduate this coming. I will switch with you Ha! Ha! Do you like the flashcard approach? It is rote learning, just like grade school. Take Care! AnnieMarie |

...for these two DSST exams. I scored:
Principles of Supervision - 56Both scores give me an A at Excelsior. The materials on InstantCert were more than sufficient. ![]() |

Hi,
I took Principles of Supervision and am still waiting for the results. I am pretty sure I passed. I did study hard with InstantCert. I had some supplemental books, but there was only a little more information there that I didn't get here. If you know the stuff here, I am sure you will do fine. techgirl |

Hi,
Instantcert is DEFINITELY enough to pass both of these exams (Supervision, and Here's to Your Health). I would consider them to be on the 'easier' end of the spectrum. I would never recommend taking any exam cold. But if you familiarize yourself with Instantcert's material, you should do just fine. Good luck, Snazzlefrag

In viewing the comments that have been made regarding HTYH, I am looking forward to PASSING THIS TEST. Would someone tell me how many questions are on the test and how many choices there are (i.e. 4, 5). Some of the comments I have read would have me believe there will be a lot of questions regarding drug and alcohol (I take that exam next week). According to the DSST Fact Sheet, 26% of the test will come from Human Development & Relationships and another 26% will come from Risk Factors, Disease & Disease Prevention and everything else in between. What area(s) should I really concentrate on, the two I just mentioned? I take the exam on Saturday, 05/20/06, any feedback is appreciated.

I wouldn't worry about the content for here's to your health. A couple of times through instantcert will be enough. It is not similar to the drug and alcohol abuse exam. I would spend your time going through the instantcert material questions for it (drug and alcohol abuse) and the explanatory text until you are 100% on the instantcert. Then, it will be a breeze. Good luck.

Hi juju, Upgray is correct, Here's to Your Health is a different animal altogether from Drug & Alcohol Abuse. A small portion of HTYH does cover some of the D&A Abuse type info (about 10% of the exam)...but only at a very superficial level. The D&A Abuse exam goes into much more detail and requires a lot more study (it's Upper Level Credit). For the HTYH exam, if you have studied the HTYH section of Instantcert, you should be good to go. All DANTES exams have FOUR possible answer choices (A-D). If I remember correctly, HTYH had 101 questions, and D&A Abuse had 103. HTYH is not very hard if you have studied. D&A Abuse is much harder (more in-depth), but still not too bad as long as you have prepared well for it. Best of luck, Snazzlefrag
