however, question: On the Essay section .. is a topic provided.. or do you simply begin writing an essay of your choice?

For my essay, the computer gave me a sentence and said to write an essay about it. I wish I could remember exactly what it was. It was something about violence on TV I think. Anyway, I wrote a short paragraph and that wasn't what they were looking for. It was pretty amazing, the computer instantly graded it, so they must just look for number of words, format maybe and key words.
