    Default Development Psych and HGD

    Well,

I took the HGD CLEP last week and got a 49... So close... Anyway.. TESC gives the same credit (PSY 211) for both of these tests and I was wondering if they indeed were pretty much the same test. Should I study the IC HGD and an HGD book? Any tips? I searched and didn't see anything on this. I notices there was a thread were someone mentioned these tests were pretty much the same.

    Thanks in Advance

    Hi Barry,

The proportion of questions about individual topics within each exam might be slightly different, but the overall content is almost exactly the same. Some schools call the course Lifespan Development Psychology, and others call it Human Growth & Development. This is why you wouldn't usually be awarded credit for BOTH courses.

The same is true of the corresponding exams. Same subject, different name, and duplicating credits.

If you still need the credits, I would definitely recommend the DANTES Lifespan exam to you. I wrote a post that outlines what you need to know, and what resources to use etc.

Study a little bit more, then go in and take the DANTES.

    Best of luck,
    Snazzlefrag

Thanks for the info. I found the post and plan on taking the DSST in a few weeks. Drug and Alcohol Abuse is next week. I will start studying for this one next.
