I was a studying machine this weekend and am going to hit the exam in a few hours. So glad to have found IC. I've been swimming in textbooks and passbooks and cram outlines for a month feeling quite overwhelmed, but after going over the IC questions, I can kind of see the "shape" of the course in a way that eluded me before. I let you know how I think I did later today. Thanks, B

Thanks for your encouragement Snazz. Assuming my automatic-grade-report score sticks I passed with an A! I'm thrilled and frankly, surprised; there was so much on this test that seemed subjective (like the question you pointed out Lee). I must've spent 10 minutes trying to figure out how picking non-institutionalized study candidates from a phone book would make you more likely to overrepresent minorities or underrepresent the poor! (I went with the phoneless poor people over the ethnic minorities with tell-tale last names...but Cmon!) Anyway, I'm thinking of jumping right back into the fire next week and taking Psych of Adult/Aging as you suggessted ... Can't believe that after 15 years I'm going to finish my degree. Know anyone who wants a bunch of gerontology study material? G'Night Baway

Great news, I too got my score back today, I got a "B"!!! So glad to get this one under my belt. I'm also happy I wasn't the only one who thought the test was subjective. But I really could care less after I passed it!
Great job to us both, since there is little on the forum about either of these tests, and IC has now put out some GREAT study guides, it should give others more confidence to try them. Now if I could only find some study sources for Research Methods of Psychology...... Lee

Ironically, once you have passed Research Methods in Psychology, you will then be familiar with all the Research Methods necessary to find the study sources needed to pass Research Methods in Psychology. Which came first, the chicken or the egg? ![]() I haven't taken this exam myself yet Lee. But here are a few online links I have compiled so far. They may or may not be helpful, so maybe you can report back on which ones are most helpful once you have used them. http://www.sparknotes.com/psychology...searchmethods/ http://chiron.valdosta.edu/whuitt/co.../research.html http://psych.athabascau.ca/html/Validity/index.shtml http://www.vanguard.edu/faculty/ddeg...spx?doc_id=876 http://www.psy.pdx.edu/PsiCafe/Research/Ethics.htm Best of luck as always, Snazzlefrag

Are you using psych as a depth? Is that why you need Research Methods? Psych is my second depth and I just found out I'm 2 LL credits shy of fulfilling it....argh! Actually I'm going to have to take 2 more LL exams (one psych and one anything) because I'm a total of 4 LL credits shy of the elusive degree. Still doable by the end of the year...
So which LL Psych exam do you recommend? I'd like to have you weigh in on this too Snazz... Thanks, Baway |

Hi Baway, I didn't think any of the LL Psych exams were overly difficult. CLEP Intro to Psych CLEP Intro to Educational Psych CLEP Human Growth & Development (or Dantes Lifespan Development Psych) DANTES Organizational Behavior All of the above are very passable using IC only. If it makes a difference to you, the three CLEPs are all pass/fail. I would feel confident recommending any of the above exams to you. I don't know which Psych exams you have already taken, but if you take CLEP Intro to Educational Psych, you could also study for CLEP HG&D and benefit from some overlap between the two. That way, you could satisfy all four of your remaining LL credits using Psych exams. Hope that helps, Snazzlefrag

Snazz missed his calling as a comedian
I hadn't done that much research on it as it's second in line; "must finish Civil War studies" is this week's mantra. I will follow up on your helpful links and give feedback on my experience. There are only a couple of posts on this subject so I'm in relatively untested waters. I'll focus more on it once I get this bloody Civil War knocked out. bawaybaway Yes I am using Psych as my second depth; Business Admin/Management will be my area of focus and is also what will be my major on my transcript. Research Methods should tie into what I've studied so far but I'm also looking at Social Psychology as well. Whichever one I deem more passable (read easier) will be the winner of me taking it's test. I am teetering on a 3.5 GPA so I'd like to do well so I can get the Latin to go with the diploma. As to the LL Psych courses, I have yet to take any as all mine taken so far have been UL. I finished all the LL requirements a while ago just leaving me with what I'm taking now. Snazz has always been on the mark with his sugestions, so far, so do a search on the forum and get a feel for which is right for you. Just having an IC guide is a bonus within itself, I have yet to fail a test which IC had a guide made specifically for that test (My ECE HRM Disclaimer). I too am on the brink of finishing my degree, just a mere 24 years after I finished High School, so I know the feeling. I wonder if walkers are allowed while going across the stage to receive one's diploma? Snazz, seeing as you're making the trip twice, you're going to need a really good one! Lee

Oh! Heck no! I plan on parachuting onto the roof of the building, bungee jumping down to the stage, then skateboarding up to the podium. Once I receive my diploma, I will high-five the chancellor, do a little dance, stage-dive into the audience, then body-surf my way to the exit door. My wife will be waiting in the Ferrari with the engines running, ready to speed us away into the sunset. Either that...or I might just have them mail my diploma to me. I'm not sure which yet, Snazzlefrag
