Test Out Business Degree plan - Bk2Skool - 08-23-2017

I am having a hard time getting a clear path to a business degree.  I am very overwhelmed because there is so much information everywhere that I am having a hard time finding what I am looking for which is just a degree plan for the cheapest and easiest business degree.

I applied for a financial aid and got some pell grant money so I enrolled in a school to take classes online but I am hoping someone could share a degree plan with me so I can start testing out of classes as well.  This 12-18 credits every six months is for the birds.  I want to go the cheapest and easiest route so I am not fixed on a particular school.  I am thinking that I can start getting credits by exam as I take classes online as well and as a final step transfer into one of the big 3 to transfer all my credits in and finalize the last 12 credits or so needed for a degree.

Any feedback or assistance would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks so much!

What credits do you already have?

RE: Test Out Business Degree plan - dfrecore - 08-24-2017

It really depends on what you already have as to which school is the best choice.

You need to list the courses you've taken, including course number, course name, number of credits, grade if less than a C, and whether the school was a semester or quarter system. Then we can better help from there.

Thank you so much for your replies.

All the courses I have taken so far have been on a semester system. My main goal at this point is to hopefully get an associates in anything and a bachelors in leadership or business as soon as possible. I am open to any degrees that would maximize the number of credits I could complete by exam.

The classes I have so far are:

ACC 114/211 Principals of Accounting I (3 credits)

BU 113 Intro to Business (3 credits)
BU 213 Principals of Management (3 credits)
BU 223 Business Communications (3 credits)
BU 223A Principals of Marketing (3 credits)
BUS 223E E-Commerce (3 credits)

CS 113F Intro to Word Processing (3 credits)

EC 213 Principals of Economics-Macro (3 credits)

EN 113 Composition & Rhetoric (3 credits)
EN 123 Composition & Literature (3 credits)

MTH 163 Precalculus I (3 credits)
MTH 164 Precalculus II (3 credits)

PY 111 Fitness for Life (1 credit)
PS 113A College Success (3 credits)
PSY 200 Principals of Psychology (3 credits)
PSY 113/201 Intro to Psychology I (3 credits)

SOC 200/213 Principals of Sociology (3 credits)
SOC 247 Death and Dying (3 credits)

Both of these classes I got a D:

BI 114 Biology (4 credits)
GS 255 General Studies Elective (3 credits)

It looks like most of your credits will fit into the TESU BSBA degree, you can choose your concentration (GM, CIS, MAR would all utilize your E-Commerce course I think).

I'm not 100% certain both Psych courses will come in, they might duplicate.  But other than that, my plan would work for you.

If you want to get an associates in anything, look into the pierpont BOG associates.

RE: Test Out Business Degree plan - allvia - 04-28-2018

And as far as getting an Associates degree to have something 'now', you look like you have what you need (plus a few of the free credits available) for a BOG ASS https://www.pierpont.edu/ac/specialprograms/bogdegree (which would cost you nothing out of pocket beyond the cost of sending transcripts)

And, you don't have to get the final 12cr at any of the Big 3. You only need 3 credits at TESU/EC, and 6cr at COSC.

To make the most of your Pell grants, I would probably think about COSC, as they have the best prices, you can use free FEMA credits, and you can use a lot of the free ModernStates/CLEP exams to fulfill your requirements.

Hello,

I’m looking to complete my requirements in the following areas for my TESU BSBA in Business.  Here is what I have so far?

Civic & Global Learning (6 credits needed):

SOC101 – Sociology

Knowledge of Human Cultures (3 credits needed):

PSY101 – Principals of Psychology I
SOC – Death & Dying

I am considering corporate communication from Saylor but it may duplicate with the business communications class I have taken that will fit into my professional business requirements.

Understanding the Physical and Natural World (3 credits needed)

BIO – Biology
Do I have to take a statistics class?

Any feedback/suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Statistics is a required 3 credits for the TESU BSBA
