Upper Level courses for Liberal Arts degree

Iamtehking Wrote:Thank you for the reply Shall

When you put Teex and Ethics does that not go in the Ethics category? Does Straighterline offer any UL? I'm paying for the month membership and want to get the most out of them.

If you are careful, you can take a second ethics course that does not duplicate the free 2hr Institutes and does not have to be UL. At the moment, I show to have the 2UL TEEX and the 2UL free Ethics in my UL category. Since that totals 4, I am ultimately one UL credit over.

Mother of God :willynilly:

That is awesome! I'll be looking into Shmoop. I've been saving quite a bit with coupon codes for SL and hopefully I can do the same with Shmoop.

Keep a few things in mind:
  1. They offer a 24 hour free trial (enter payment info, cancel before 24 hours and you're golden). During this free trial, you can finish an entire course and get it reviewed by ACE for credit. This is crucial for the next point.
  2. The questions can be very convoluted, as many members of this forum have mentioned. To the point that the information may not even be covered in the course material OR that they put a significant spin on it.
  3. If you do decide to sign up after the 24 hour trial, make sure to pick the $89.95 a month plan. If you don't, you don't get credit.
  4. There is no proctoring. Make of this what you will.

Best of luck!

Thank you Thorne you are really helping me out.

Are these courses 6 weeks? I'm not going to work now so I have unlimited time to dedicate to study and class taking, but I'd rather have it where if I spend all day I can finish it.

Very welcome! Glad to give back to people here when I can. Smile

Self-paced. If you can get all of the course assignments finished in six hours, then you've completed the course in six hours. It's a lot like StraighterLine in class format.

Nicely done!

coughs Well, I do accept wire transfers to my account. Name is Rose Thorne, account number 1122334455 routing number 101. Please send $$$ for more assistance. Wink
Seriously, though, it's not a bother. You're asking meaningful questions and acting on what you've learned, many of us are just happy to help someone else beat the drudgery of a 4-year (or 6-year, should you pursue a Master's) program.

If you're going for a COSC degree, you need to get yourself the master exam list... that's for CLEP/DSST tests.
However, there "isn't a list" for ACE/NCCRS credits for COSC, it's hard to determine until you look at the provider website.
If the provider website doesn't have any updates, the only people who can answer are COSC course advisors.

Is that specific to the courses mentioned here? Both my Shmoop courses were proctored. Not directly, but they insist someone reviews the video....

Do they live capture your screen as you take the exam? I find no reference to this on their site, but I could just be missing something.
