Excelsior- Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts
#21
Excelsior isn't going to be cheaper, as both Santantone and I have pointed out.

Here is a spreadsheet showing what TESU would do with your courses.

I think TESU may be the simplest way to go, as you have all of your business requirements including the AOS done - all you have left are some Gen Ed's.

The other issue you're going to have with Excelsior is that there are a lot of UL credits needed (30), and many of the ones that TESU considers UL aren't UL at EC.  So, you're going to need to fulfill all of the rest of the Gen Ed's you have, plus add additional credits that are UL.  You'll need 7 UL Gen Ed's, and 2 UL Business courses.

I also don't know how EC will treat the PF Strategic Management course you took, hopefully they will bring it in as an UL business elective.

No matter where you go, you need Stats.  And English Comp I & II  (which TESU will let you bring in as an exam, while EC makes you take it as a course).

EC looks to be about $200 more than TESU at this point, but I am no expert in how EC bring in courses, so I'm not certain this is 100% correct.

Graduation is $495 if you don't take 12 credits in Excelsior courses. If you only stay enrolled for a year, then I think you won't have to pay $225. You'll just have to pay $1095 for enrollment. The student service fee starts on the second year.

Not true on English Comp I & II.  My Excelsior College degree is using an English Comp Exam.

I found the UL easy using DSST exams myself.

I also have other credits but not sure how they will transfer:

Essay Writing
Literary Analysis
Literary Composition
Western Civilization
World Civilization
Prob & Stat
Philosophy

If I can transfer 117 credits , take capstone and pay. It would work for me as long as it is under $3000

Many folks here have a ton of knowledge and experience with the Big 3.  That being said, until you apply to all 3 "you" REALLY never know which one is the best deal as we all have unique college credit backgrounds and they all 3 have different rules.  I like Excelsior College because they became the better fit for me and my government and military background.  I still like the two others and would be proud to be an alumni from TESU or COSC.

For TESU: If Essay Writing comes in as English Comp I, Literary Analysis as your Info Lit Requirement, Literary Comp as English Comp II, Western Civ & Philosophy as the Knowledge of Human Cultures (for sure), World Civ as your Diversity Requirement, Prob & Stat as your Stats course (for sure) - then all you need is 2cr of Gen Ed.  I would probably save money and do a Saylor course for $25.  Then, you need to sign up for the capstone when you can.

If you do this, I show that you are in for $3330.

If after your eval some of these courses don't come in as planned (I question Essay Writing, Literary Analysis, Literary Comp & World Civ because I'm not 100% certain they will come in as I guessed, although I do think they will all come in), then you might need to take a few more courses.  But I've been pretty good at guessing for a few years now.

For EC - while those courses will probably come in, and will fulfill some requirements, they won't help in terms of UL credits. So you would still need to take additional courses there. They will still be closer to $4k.

Very good feedback. Thank you

Let's say I need 2-3 classes and their capstone. Would I be able to take these clases at SL/Study.com/shmoop/Saylor ??

It will be a lot cheaper to take them and transfer them. Then I'm back to their specific fees and stay away from credit cost with the exception of capstone.
