Straighterline discount code - autorenewal
#1
Is there a way to use discount code for an automatic renewal?  My son is in the middle of a straighterline course, and he renews on Wednesday.  Is it possible to use a discount code while he is in the middle of a class when it auto renews?

Thanks

You can use a discount code as long as it hasn't been used before. I usually recommend cancelling the membership and then applying a 50 off membership coupon. The last step is then to order a course or two with another coupon... I love double dipping for cheaper courses in total.

Hello there~ I'm a complete newbie, learning the ropes for my high schooler, and I'm still a bit confused on your explanation above on double dipping.  Are you saying it's possible to use two $50 off coupons for two separate courses in one month, bringing the total to around $120?  ($99 mo. fee + $10 for each course)

you can't use the same coupon twice as far as I know - you also can't use two coupons on one item (course/membership) but you CAN use different coupons on different products if you use separate transactions.

I believe what BJ is suggesting is to block your auto-renewal of your membership and then buy it again with a new code the day after it expires. You will NOT lose your place- I know it seems scary, but that's a common tactic to get the most bang for your buck.

Here is an example of how you do it:

Transaction 1- in cart: membership. Use membership code ABC. Complete transaction then proceed to next transaction.
Transaction 2- in cart: course X. Use membership code 123. Complete transaction then proceed to next transaction.
Transaction 3- in cart: course Y. Use membership code 456. Complete transaction.

--remove the auto renew on your membership by canceling, you'll get to work up until the day the membership expires. Later that day....

Transaction 4- in cart: membership. Use membership code DEF. Complete transaction then proceed to finish courses X and Y, or do a new transaction for a new course.
