Lie or Mistake?

I saw that. I didn't follow the competing campaigns enough to know what platforms the candidates were pushing to know if that may have been a factor. Wondering if the fact her husband is sheriff just gave her name the cache or recognition needed to win. Or perhaps folk missed the degree fiasco story because of how late it came out.

This is why it can't be a lie Lol!!! I could see someone getting a Bachelors and in error feeling that even without their schools acknowledgment, they might have achieved their associates in ABC. Of course, this is a glass half full position but thinking of schools like TESU, where the lion share of communication happens here (in forums) and not the school, a student could gain a false confidence on completing an associates degree.

Now the lack of a diploma, letter or email confirmation of completion hurts her grand story.

My vote is she forgot the truth Wink

If I were to lie about having a degree, it would at least be a bachelor's. Lying about having an associate's is embarrassing.

I love this quote from the coordinator of admissions and records, “We have not heard of any issues with former students related to any misunderstanding about graduation,”. Nice way of saying 'It's Not Us, It's You'!! The bigger story is that she was off and on for 10 years at the same school for her AA. Most of us here have a Start, Stop, Start, Finish story that covers years and even decades but one with a 10 year run on an AA seems harder to do than not do. She should connect on this board for some help and get that AA goal finally completed!!!

Heck, she should come here and finally complete her Bachelor's! The article said she attended Va Tech, suggesting she was never actually going for an associate's, anyway. Somebody should reach out...

Anyone interested and willing to draft a letter to the editor of the Roanoke Times publicly inviting her? Maybe we could submit it as a group
