ACP credit vs. "direct" credit

There were initially 2 schools in my state (NC) that participated and now only one, where my older son intends to transfer. He has not taken any of the ACP courses yet but was planning on taking Saylor's stats this Spring.... maybe just stick with the DSST exam instead. My only experience with DSST though is the Civil War & Reconstruction test my younger son just took today and did not pass, scored 375 :-(

Yes, I'm a little hesitant to encourage you to pursue ACP. I'm sure you're looking at Fayetteville- and they will only accept Straighterline via ACP, that I know for sure. They do, however, have a full articulation agreement with all the NC community colleges, so a full AA or AS is guaranteed transfer - asking me TODAY about this, I'd work the AA/AS plan from now through ACP renewal and we'll see what happens. If they renew, then you can go all in on the ACP. Their agreement (in it's current edition) is really nice! That was my son's ACP school of choice too. (we changed, but it had nothing to do with ACP, I only mention it because I spent some time looking into it)

Also, let me add, he can do the Saylor exam. It's only $25 and if they keep the ACP you're golden! If they don't, the DSST will be a slam dunk. (DSST is currently offering a free retake as well as a reduced retake testing window of only 30 days)

This is awesome news for my son who didn't pass the DSST today! Thanks!

I contacted ACE last week and asked them about the discrepancy, and they just said they'd contact SL to ask about the status of my courses. Since then, my newest batch of SL courses has been approved (the SL version), but all the ACP versions are still sitting in the queue.
