I have taken a couple of Study.com classes and I notice some of the lessons overlap between courses. For example I took Spanish 101 and 102. When I look at Spanish 105 it shows that 79% of the lessons are already completed. Has anyone mapped out courses that overlap well with Study.com?
Thanks

It's kind of random, and hard to figure out, especially if you're taking more than 1 course through them. I finished Personal Finance and saw that a couple of Microecon sections were completed. I started Microecon and Human Growth and Dev, and now a bunch of other courses (not necessarily Psych) are showing as partially done.

i haven't seen any kind of work up or anything on it but with some courses the over lap is extensive. for instance if you do Business 109 then it fills in 45% of Business 104, I know that one because i recently did both of them

I recently asked study.com about the overlap on the communications courses because I was considering adding an associate degree in Communications.
I was told by Erin that "There are 17 lessons worth of overlap between Communications 101 (Public Speaking) and Communications 120 (Presentation Skills), but not much between those courses and Communications 102 (Interpersonal Communication)." [I had 12% of Comm. 102 done after Comm. 101 & 120 classes.]
She went on to say, "There are 18 lessons that overlap between Business 305 (Leadership Communication) and Business 113 (Business Communication). When you look at all 5 classes together, there is a hefty amount of overlap."
I didn't ask about Business 324 (Managerial Communication) because I did that through Davar, but I have 22 of 94 quizzes passed in that class due to my prior work in Comm. 101 & 120 and the first 2 chapters of Comm. 102.
TESU BA June 2018.
Various business certificates still to do.

Don't forget to take the assessments if the course offers them. You can take those assessments multiple times and it auto completes those lessons for you. I think I tested out of almost half of Org Behavior plus whatever the overlap was with a few other courses I took. It is definitely worth it to be able to skip over the material you know and not to have to take all those darn quizzes.

the only thing i would say about the assessments is that if you know very little about the subject they aren't worth doing for the time involved. you'll complete more of the course by just doing the regular chapters
if you know alot about it then yes, by all means

I never spent much time doing the assessments - maybe ten minutes tops. I didn't think I had any prior knowledge of Org Behavior but still tested high. So even if you don't think you will know much it doesn't hurt to try. It would have taken me much more than ten minutes to cover that many lessons. That was just my experience on that one course though. Maybe others are different.
