This isn't as straight-forward a question as you might think. First, when you cancel your membership, everything stays in your account "forever" and it will be exactly where you left off when you renew. So, can you schedule an exam for next year? Sure. But, then comes the question of credit evaluation- SL courses are subject to the date restrictions in place by ACE, so if a course's credit expires or is revamped before you finish your exam, you might be in a pickle.

Oh, that's a bummer; a lot of them are set to expire March of next year.

Right, so my advice is to complete everything in your dashboard before then. If we hit March and they renew unchanged, you'll be fine. In general, expiration deadlines freak me out a little- you never know what can happen. They could even REMOVE a course.

I see; thank you. Is it more common for them to renew courses than anything else?

That question required some digging. I pulled up their history in ACE. I spot-checked about a dozen, and all of them had at least 1 change after about 3 years. Meaning, they were renewed but different versions. So, a new version would likely mean your old (current) version would require being completed inside the date range (using the old exam). I think that happened here once..... someone's exam was loading as a new version when they were doing an old class- or something like that.

Something else you can do if you're willing- is to take all your finals now. That locks them in and you can go back and complete the classes later.

That’s a great tip; thank you. If I finish the finals now, will my official completion date be when I’m done with the actual course, or the day I took the final?

Well, come to think of it, it may not be of any benefit since they wouldn't register you as a pass until all the exams were finished. If you don't mind me asking, do you have a ton of these that you won't have time to complete? Most of their classes can be powered through in a short period of time. My 11th grader just did Accounting 1 in 8 days (faster than planned) but I remember SEVERAL adults here who have done full SL classes in a weekend.

I have four at the moment. I could finish all in a week, I’m hoping, but these are for the second degree I’m planning on getting (General Management BSBA). My first undergrad degree will be awarded around June of 2019, and TESU requires that the first degree must be conferred before one could begin working on the second, so I don’t want to have these courses be fully marked as complete before then.
