My husband will be pursuing his BA in Liberal Studies with the intent of teaching middle school. We have found that our state will accept a non-traditional degree, but we have no idea what school would be best for him to complete said degree.
He would like to have his concentrations be Social Sciences, Humanities, and Math (in that order). By the end of Feb he will have 64 credits with plans to take as many CLEP and DSST tests (or others) as possible.
Which school will offer us the most bang for our buck and the quickest to graduate? How soon do you think he could be finished? What tests do you recommend he take and from where? (He already plans on taking 4 or 5 DSST history exams assuming they are upper level credits) How do we know what tests are upper level?

I'm not sure about the comparison of the schools, but I know somebody else on this board has got to be an expert.
DSST - GetCollegeCredit.com
Here's the fact sheet page for DSST exams. The tests that have 3BU next to them are ACE recommended as upper level, and the 3B ones are lower. Your college has the final say on whether they are upper level or not. CLEP exams are almost universally lower level.

I think TESC will give you upper level credit for the most test. This link will take you to a page that shows what credit they give for each TECEP/CLEP or DSST exam.

As for which school is best I think it depends on where you live and a couple of other things. I think if you search this site there is a comparison of "the big 3" somewhere.

I vote for TESC! Of course, I'm finishing up BALS at TESC myself and may be a tad biased... ;-)
