    Default Project Management Anyone?

I am due to graduate in December 2007 majoring in business management and instead of attending graduate school I was thinking of pursuing training in the project management arena. Does anyone have experience with this or know of good training outlets. If you are in this field, do you like it and do you have any advice.

    Thanks,

    Default Project Management

    Hi,

I've been an IT PM for 11 years and am certified (PMP) with the Project Management Institiute. I currently work for one of the Big Four accounting firms.

I'd be happy to answer any questions you have about the career. I've enjoyed it greatly.

PM me if you'd like to chat.

I have been looking at different Schools. What inspired you to choose Aspen University? I am still figuring out what to look for in a good program.

I like the fact that it gives you 9 credits for the PMP. and that you can do independant online learning. The price is only 4500 and you can test out of another 9 credits by examination.

If you dont have the PMP the program has courses that will teach you what is needed to get your PMP.

    I think its WIN/WIN.

Thanks, I'm definitely going to look further into Aspen U. The price sounds good as does the distant learning factor. In fact, I was getting discouraged looking at the cost some of the schools are asking. Others that I have known in PM seem to have gotten promoted into the position and advance and trained from there. For me, it just seems like a logical move after completing a business management degree. I feel like formal training will focus directly on the components of managing projects in a corporate enviornment and help me get at least something entry level to start off with.

    I appreciate the feedback.
