Default Tor CC is Changing its Name to Davar Academy, adding courses, and lowering prices

    Just got this email...

    From: "TCC support" <support@torcollegecredits.com>
    Date: Dec 26, 2016 8:53 AM
Subject: Fwd: Tor College Credits is Changing its Name

We have exciting news to share with you. Tor College Credits is being re-branded and renamed as Davar Academy.

Nothing changes from the perspective of your user account and the way you take courses and exams online. Davar Academy is a Member of the National College Credit Recommendation Service (NCCRS), and the NCCRS has approved all its courses.

Tor College Credits’ web site and email domain will change to http://www.davaracademy.com Your access URL and login information will remain the same.

    Even more exciting news!
In addition to adding many new courses in Business and General Education, Davar Academy is offering all its courses at new low prices starting at $70 a course.

We have more future plans for Davar Academy and will share those with you in the near future.

If you have any questions or thoughts, please feel free to let us know.

    Best Regards,
    The TCC support team
    TorCollegeCredits.com

    (emphasis mine)

I wonder if this time the name change will stick. They've gone from Torah College Credits, to Tor College Credits, to Tor Academy, to now this. The new website sure is a heck of a lot better, at least.

Depending on how TESU will transcribe the two CIS courses I'll sign up this week!

It is a really good time for alternative credits. So many options.

I should point out that it looks like the ProctorU fee is paid by you separately still, so it looks more like $95 a pop. Still not so bad.

I don't know for sure how these will end up transferring, but with so many upper level recommendations, these could be a great option for those at COSC.
I don't know what the future holds, but I know Who holds the future.

Does anyone know if WGU accepts NCCRS credits? There's only one course on here my son needs, but it would be great if he could mark that one off the list.
Here Researching for my son, who has done the following:
Community College: Intro to Philosophy, Fundamentals of IT, English Comp 1
Saylor: Intro to Business, Principles of Marketing, Corporate Communication
Shmoop: US History 2 (WGU won't accept this)
    ALEKS: Int. Algebra, College Algebra
Study.com: Personal Finance, Principles of Finance, HR Management, Global Business, Advanced Operations Management - Next Up: Statistics, Project Management
Straighterline: US History 2, Environmental Science, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, English Comp 2, Principles of Management, Business Law, Business Ethics, Psychology - In Process: Communication, Organizational Behavior - Next Up: Accounting, Managerial Accounting
Ed4Credit:In Process - Managing Information Systems
Goal: Complete BS in HR Management at WGU in one term.

I couldn't find a any mention of NCCRS on the WGU site. they probably don't, but I don't know that for sure. Worth a call to your enrollment advisor, though.

What class is he looking at on that list?

Management Information Systems - he took Fundamentals of IT at community college but it won't transfer in for that, so he was happy at the thought of being able to knock it out via this method prior to enrolling - but yeah, from all his communications with the enrollment advisor, there was no mention about NCCRS.

There's ed4credit (ACE Recommended), they use proctoru for online proctoring, and the course should be $195.
I'm not sure if Study.com has that course, but you should check it out as well... make sure WGU accepts it first.
Working on: Saylor and Straighterline Courses
Up Next: IT Certifications (Cisco / Microsoft)
Current Goal: TESU ASBA and ASNSM Biology (December 2016)

Short Term Goal: TESU BSBA Gen. Man. or CIS & Marketing (Early 2017)
Long Term Goal: WGU BSIT - Network Admin or Security (Late 2017)
