Well he's a professor so he should enjoy education. Maybe he wants to beat the 19 Kids and Counting show......or however many kids the Duggars ended up with.

Totally depends on the school. I have 2 associate degrees and have been rejected at a few community colleges because I already have those 2 degrees. I could take a few classes as an unenrolled student but I couldn't complete another associate degree. Mine are from the SUNY system and they are REALLY picky. I'm surprised Hudson Valley Community College let him complete and associate degree with having a bachelor's and a master's. They're one of the schools that rejected me! And I'm already an HVCC alumni!

This guy and his wife have it figured out! Work at a college with free tuition and you can earn as many degrees as they'll let you complete.

This guy - I think. 145 degrees and counting. Prof. V.N. Parthiban
https://www.indiatoday.in/fyi/story/50-y...2016-09-07
The record in N. America (I think) might be a relatively puny 30 or so degrees, held by a guy named Nicholson. He spent most of his life working low level (maintenance-etc) jobs on university campuses - job benefits usually included free tuition.
Here he is. If you see him, tell him I'm unimpressed. Totally. Like, what did he DO with these degrees? He basked in their glory. Yep - a real basker, for sure. Nobody likes a basker.

Prof V.N. Parthiban teaches at the college, so he contributes to society with his knowledge.
But, the degree quite exaggerated (while it is still amazing). For example, he has several PGDip. In India (also in the UK and other countries), if you enroll in a Master's program, you will be rewarded a PGDip after studying for one year then you'll receive MS/MA/MBA with additional 1-2 terms and thesis. He also lists several non-academic and professional degrees, which some of them quite easy to obtain.
