I was told at one of the introductory group meetings that if you take the Capstone and the Information Literacy in 6 months then you only have to pay 1/2 of the Residency Fee? Has anyone else heard this? I just wasn't sure if that sounded right? I know I asked her to repeat it. IF that is true, then that may be a reason to double up on those two courses if possible to figure in graduation too.

That sounds like wishful thinking on that person's part. Plenty of people on the forum have taken the cornerstone and capstone within 6 months (many have taken both at the same time) and did not receive a discounted residency waiver fee.

What introductory group meeting are you talking about??
And no, that's not something I've ever heard of, otherwise everyone on here would be doing that, and you'd see it on here all over the place.

This is meetings that they have monthly online webinar that introduces people to the college. Sometmes they include specific majors and interests. If you go to the main page, they currently have one for nursing and one for instate New Jersey residents scheduled. They are typically led by someone from TESU that answers all kinds of questions and gives advice, but you have others online listening and asking questions too. Here is one webinar in the link. The lady we got was very helpful, but I think she was wrong on this one point even though I asked her again to make sure. She gave me her cell phone # and specific email too. However, I haven't used it.

It wouldn't be a terrible idea. Encourage people to hurry up and quit dragging it out. Start a 6 month timer from the term the cornerstone starts. I doubt it would be 1/2 off, they need to make money somehow (especially off 114ers) but even $500 off could be motivating.

She's confused. Unless TESU is desperate for fees and has JUST come to the realization that a $3000 residency is a barrier to people graduating. I asked about the fee for certificates only as opposed to getting a degree and they refused to confirm it. Just laughable. I'm so mad at TESU right now. I'm really thinking about quitting and have been for several months because of several things that have happened.

There is indeed a webinar where one can ask any questions.
I believe they are discouraging certificates, especially if one has passed the associate "threshold" in credits transferred.
