A shining example of what happens when you take a B&M English Class....

Yea, it's kind of embarrassing seeing examples of students at our universities, after having worked with so many students here in China. My impression of U.S. colleges now is being reflected by vids like that.

So, like, yea, we're totally gonna have this kegger later, and like maybe after we're wasted some group sex or drugs afterwards. But doooood I totally got some test or some junk tomorrow....laaaaaaaaame. I'll just tell the prof I was sick and find someone to take care of it for me later or some junk. TOOTALLY!

Or maybe it's just her accent and way of speaking (and others I see in college videos and the like) that gives me the impression that the college graduate of tomorrow will be at the intellectual and educational level of the high school student of generations past.

(For the record, yes many people (here in China) need to stfu and quit screaming at their phone while they are talking in public, and (other) locals will discuss this cultural phenomenon all the time. (While blaming a different sub-group for causing the issue.))

Don't worry, she's probably a sociology major, which means she hasn't learnt anything since highschool and likely has deteriorated since then Tongue

Another note, this girl expressed some ridiculous ignorance about asia. The tsunami was in Japan, and Japan and China (even the rest of asia) are completely different. At best they are indifferent towards each other, at worst, they are lifelong enemies. Japanese people have an extremely strict/polite culture which would make Americans seem astronomically rude, so I'm sure the girl screaming on her phone wasn't from Japan.

By the way Brandex it's nice to see someone on the forum in China, what're you doin there?

I just live here Smile
I do some odd-job tutoring and such, and occasionally my d/l studies, but otherwise mostly just enjoying living with my wife (local Chinese) and our two children.
(and my wife's parents Smile )
