ACE Review

Hi Everyone,

I'm sorry if this has been asked, but I honestly have done a search! :ack:

I don't think I'm getting this ACE Review thing. Do I have to find my school in that list in order for my credits to be reviewed? So, basically does my school already have to be an ACE Reviewed / Courses approved institution?

Background: I have an AAS in Visual Communications from Brown College (90 credits), a NA school listed with CHEA, ACCSC accredited.

On another post, some of you mentioned to me that maybe I can get my credits ACE reviewed for transfer credit into Excelsior or maybe the other 2.

Can anyone explain the ACE process? Or, if you know where the thread is where someone else asked this?

Sorry for the misunderstanding. Here's how ACE works:

ACE reviews courses from NA colleges or non-accredited sources. They do not review your credit specifically. For example, Penn Foster's Information Literacy class is ACE reviewed. If you take this class you have ACE reviewed credit you can put on an ACE transcript for transfer if Penn Foster's NA credits are not accepted on their own.

If the class is not ACE reviewed prior to you taking the class your credit cannot be reviewed individually by ACE. It reviews classes for the distributing venue not the end user. In other words, if Brown took the time to get any of its courses ACE reviewed, you're in luck! If not, there's nothing you can do.

Hey Rickyjo: Thanks for the relply! That's kind of what I figured and since I don't see Brown anywhere on the ACE site, then I'm probably out of luck with that avenue. Bummer!
