It helps you write in APA style which is American Psychological Association- but generically speaking, any social sciences usually use this format when writing academic papers- it depends on the field you study as to the style expected. Usually grad school is pretty specific/demanding about certain formats (there are others besides APA), and the software helps a great deal as I understand. APA style is ridiculous about placement of indentations, periods, commas, dates, quotes, spacing, etc. Some schools are more hard-core than others. My last Harvard course was taught by a professor who wrote the book (literally) on psych department writing for Harvard students (APA style)- so it was a HUGE stress writing for that course (never mind the content! LOL). I'm hoping to have the software for my next class.
