Is there any way to find out whether ALEKS will be renewed, or is it just a matter of finding out after the fact? I'm starting to panic a little over whether I'll be able to finish my course by 7/31.

No way to know.
But, I will say that if you don't finish by 7/31, that knowledge will go with you, and you could probably take a Saylor exam or CLEP and do fairly well if you've gotten through a good portion of the course. Don't think of ALEKS as your only option, or you will put undue stress on yourself.
I personally thought the Stats course was WAY too hard through ALEKS, but then took the Study.com course and did just fine. Not sure which course you're taking, but my advice is to just do the best you can, and worry about what happens if you don't pass by 7/31 at that point in time. There are LOTS of other options for the 3 ALEKS courses available elsewhere.
