I just want to affirm that TESU is super generous in accepting credits. I think you should have your transcripts evaluated by them before you make a decision.
BSBA/Accounting TESU (2016). MSA UIUC (2018).
Need help with portfolios? I earned 18 credits at TESU through portfolio evaluations. Nine of those were for upper level accounting courses. My advice for PLA/portfolios: TESU portfolio tips The first post has the Portfolio Checklist I created. Page ten has the actual narrative I wrote to receive credit for ACC-440.
Using Straighterline's Financial Accounting as a substitute for TESU's Intermediate Accounting I? Don't do it if you are an accounting major and/or want your CPA license. They are not the same course and I think TESU has erred in accepting the SL course as Intermediate I. I made this discovery here: Intermediate Accounting II.

I asked them about the UMPI BAS exception, will let you know what they have to say. I'm also asking them to look into how much would transfer if I went the BLS route.
Meanwhile, before I pay TESU to apply... If they took everything in for the BALS and I only had to take the 2 required classes, that would be great, but I still would be looking at about $7K more to get the BALS degree, correct? I understand it can't be free, but was hoping to spend less especially if I have to settle on a liberal studies degree (which everything seems to be pointing to at the moment).
Additionally, I'm still interested in the UMPI MAOL (if this bachelor's ever works out). Not sure if this question should be in a separate thread, but does anyone have an idea of how many sessions it would typically take (say part time) to get through the 12 MAOL classes (or 9 classes if I were able to do 3 of them ahead of time as part of the UMPI BLS)?

UMPI MAOL is likely 3-4 sessions if you have 12 classes to do, though some have done it in 2.

I kinda wanted to recommend trying ETAMU - but even if they accepted every credit and checked off every requirement, they'd still make you take Texas Political Science and the 30 credits in the major and maybe even two additional upper level classes. There's no advantage there.
In the good ole days when the Big Three were really still the Big Three, you're EXACTLY the student their programs were created for that already has a degree's worth of education and just needs the piece of paper tying it up in a bow that says "complete." It's a shame that there is no longer quite as easy a path to just slap a capstone on these transcripts and call it a done deal.

Yeah, that would be nice. I did it to myself though, should have completed it when it was almost in my hand. I guess one plus when it's done will be that while it may be a BA in Nothingness, I'll at least have a degree that's not 30 years old.

I still really feel it is criminal how UMPI is treating your RA Purdue credits via transfer yet will take Sophia courses. I still strongly feel TESU will treat you fairer.
LOL UMPI would not even take an RA UL 4xx English class to fulfill Eng comp II? This is just a bad look for them. It comes off as if their advisors are trying to upsell you on spending more money for no reason.

Obviously it's your call, but for me I'd like the satisfaction of knowing that my prior work was being accepted for my degree. I'd probably go with TESU if the price difference wasn't too much. It also means less work to do which for me would be another important factor. What is the actual price difference?

I appreciate all the advice.
I'm waiting on UMPI to tell me what would be left to take if I go with a BLS there. If they took everything and I only needed to take the required 10 courses, I think it's $3,600 if I did the 10 classes in 2 sessions. But I don't know for sure yet if they would get it down to only 10.
If I went with TESU and they got it down to only the 2 courses needed, I think it would be more like $7,000 for those 6 credits (with the Edison Accelerate fee).

Yeah, TESU will be more expensive, and the capstone is probably as much work as two or three of the UMPI courses you'd have to take. It all comes down to whether you want to trade money for time/effort. The frustrating part for you is that you have so many old CS credits. Old credits are generally not a problem, I used a bunch of 30yo credits, but Area of Study credits in technical disciplines have to be newer.

Here's an update of where I'm at with UMPI...
They confirmed that I cannot use the AS degree to get into the BAS program, so that's out.
They're saying to get the BLS with Management or MIS minors, I would have to take 14 more classes total.
There's only room to take 1 MAOL OLS equivalent course, but at least it's something.
So here's what I'm down to:
General Education (4 can be Sophia)
Eng 121 (Sophia 1002: English Composition II or ENG 1020: Workplace Writing II)
Eng 211 OR Art 108
Eng 151 OR Hum 184 OR Art 211 (Sophia ARTHIST 1001: Art History I)
Bio 105 OR HPR 101 (Sophia HLTH 1011: Health, Fitness, and Wellness)
Geo 101 OR Soc 100 OR Swk 105 (Sophia SOC 1001: Introduction to Sociology)
Hty 115 OR Hty 116 OR Hty 161 OR Hty 162 (Sophia HIST 1001: U.S. History I)
Fre 101 OR Spa 101 (Sophia: SPAN 1001 Spanish I)
Pos 101 OR 211 OR 332 (Sophia: HIST 1020 U.S. Government)
MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS MINOR
Bus 200 Intermediate Business Computing
Bus 244 Management Information Systems (Study: BUSINESS 303 Management Information Systems)
Bus 245 Programming for Managers
Bus 345 Database Management Systems (Coursera: IBM Data Analysis/Visualization)
Bus 359 IT Project Management
Bus 440 Business Analytics
I looked up some Sophia/Study/Coursera equivalents that are still working (as of today), but since I have to do 10 classes at UMPI, I would only be able to do Sophia for 4 of them. Any thoughts on which 4 would be best/quickest to do at Sophia rather than UMPI?
Thanks!
