Anyone wanna start a fandom group?

I'll be moderator or something, I like Sherlock, Dr. Who, Jane Austen, LOTR, Disney, and Once Upon a Time and I'd love to meet some of you who like the same things. Big Grin ~Snow~

At the risk of sounding like a dork, what is fandom?

I think it's just the opposite, not knowing what a fandom is guarantees you are not a dork. :p

For a message forum on a site all about testing... lol

Let's use our magical powers of deduction and pretend its a word on vocabulary test.

Fan - fanatic

-dom suffix - group

So, a group of fans of the shows she mentioned?

What do I win!?!?

lol

Ha! good call!

I think it still works though for two reasons...

1. fandom has taken on a different weird elevated status, the way words on the interwebs do these days... (cant think of an example right now but its similar to how a proper noun can become a verb like "I googled it!" or "facebook me!")

2. and group means something different these days too, like "Yahoo Groups!"

Maybe she wants to start a fandom (yahoo) group? lol

or a "Fandom! Group!" if you will.

Don't mind me my brain is fried after this term and I'm letting it meander aimlessly til the hell starts all over again next month. Big Grin
