I wouldn't expect there to be fully online ones, but I thought maybe they could mail paperwork to be done, have me create and mail in some thing for the class, do some phone/videoconferencing with students, maybe travel once per semester or year? I don't know much about assistantships in general, so I may be off base here. I guess you usually have to teach B&M classes, or be present during/after them, but I'm curious if anything like this exists.

This is not quite what you were asking for, but I am taking the MITx Micromasters program in data/econ/development. There are community TA's in that program and, apparently, in other edx programs. These are, of course, unpaid. However, this might be a good way to network and establish a history as an online instructor. Of course, you are also working for free, but...

Just curious if anyone knows if there any programs that allow you to volunteer for NFP's and work off any portion of student debt that you have accumulated?
