Associates Degree Question

That part is such a joke! I left the state once before and moved back for a job opportunity for my husband. I hope to leave again and in less than 5 years. I would not advise anyone to stay in this state. It's sooooo expensive! Taxes are the highest in the nation and continue to climb. The infrastructure is crumbling. NYC runs the entire state and no one cares about the rest of the state. It's a shame. The state has so much history, architecture, and nature beauty, but the politicians have destroyed any means of earning a decent living here.

I've noticed a far majority of the threads and comments are Bachelors Degree related, and I understand why. Unfortunately, I'm the type of person that needs to have near term milestones or I'll lose motivation. A Bachelors Degree is my end goal, but I thought if I could break this down and get an Associates and then focus on the Bachelors it might be more of an incentive for me. Thinking a business related degree from maybe Excelsior or Thomas Edison State University. Anyone have thoughts, suggestions, or lessons learned?

I definitely know how you feel wanting near sighted goals. I operate very similarly myself.
I wanted to make a career change and didn't know where to start. The nice thing was I had my general AA and a few additional credits I picked up after my AA. However with my goal being Chiropractic school (major career shift) I needed a lot of prerequisites to get in and wanted to be on a fast track to get there.

I looked into a 4 year school, the local community college, and eventually stumbled upon Straighterline through a recommendation. It ended up saving me thousands of dollars and I was able to work full time while taking their online classes and finished all the prerequisites in a year. Im currently in Chiropractic school and loving it!

I would 10/10 recommend Straighterline in your position (especially if you want an at your pace and affordable option) because you can take so many prerequisites and standard classes that way.

Hope that is helpful to you on your education journey/search, don't hesitate to respond with questions for me.
