BYU-IS accepted at TESU?
#1
I was planning on doing two BYU-IS courses for UL credit. I just looked them up in the ACE registry, both the institution and the course names, but nothing comes up. Are BYU-IS courses still accepted at TESU?

In case it wasn't clear from sanantone's message, BYU-IS courses don't need to be ACE approved because they are actual college courses offered by an actual college (not "college equivalent" courses)

And they are graded credit that will come over on a BYU-IS transcript. So you'll have a GPA there.

Thanks, that's a good source of motivation to do well on the courses.

Considering you can get 2 courses at SDC for $199, or even cheapter at SL with discount codes, why spend extra money taking courses through BYU?

They are UL courses.

If you are doing a BALS or BSBA through TESU, all UL courses are available through Study.com

I'm doing the BA in English—UL courses are scarce.

I'm taking two courses from BYU-IS right now (albeit not English ones), and I find the format pretty nice. I have a total of 4 courses through them on my plan currently, as it's a nice, cheap source of graded credits. I think you'll enjoy them, although be warned that (at least in my experience) they are quite a bit more rigorous than a typical ACE/NCCRS course (which is to be expected).

Also, to add a caveat to what dfrecore said, these courses will not show up with a grade on your TESU transcript, only on your BYU transcript. So if something only wants to verify your GPA at TESU (which might be the case with some employers), these courses won't count. If they want to verify your GPA across your undergraduate studies (almost any graduate school), they will want to see your BYU transcript as well, which will include grades for these courses.
