Propero/Pearson courses
#31
armyb77 Wrote:I think that Straighterline is definitely a better option compared to Propero. Propero just has to many issues and it seems that they don't have enough customers to justify fixing the problems, or they just don't care. Even my course had issues from enrollment to quizzes that had content not covered yet. The only reason I would suggest Propero is if you want a self paced course and you need English Comp II only and don't want to read Frankenstein. Otherwise stick with Straighterline, or even CLEP it.

Well don't forget that Propero also offers some courses that SL does not (see full list here). Perhaps for those courses that both have one should favor SL, but for the others Propero could still be a good alternative.

At least for the one I took, I think that I figured out the trick to the Propero courses. I did have some of the same issues as everyone else, but this was able to get me scores in the 80's on most tests. Each Lesson has a presentation, I pull up the text only version and copy/paste each slide inter a Word Doc. Then i can just search the Word doc for key phrases. about 3/4 of the questions were right from the lesson, the rest i searched the book for and was able to find a few, then guessed on a couple. Have gotten 80 to 90 this way. Then i combine the Doc's for the section tests.

It is pretty rough though, maybe you guys can help me out. I am going to attempt to CLEP my last three classes I need for my degree: Humanities, Microeconomics, Accounting. If I fail any of these, is there something you would reccoment instead of Propero?

Good Info, thanks

I haven't taken any of them but I think Straighterline would be the next best plan for those. But stay positive.

Considering you're resurrecting a nearly 6-year-old thread and Vandalet hasn't even logged into this forum in 2 years, I suspect that even if you get an answer, it may no longer be relevant. Courses are updated periodically so the requirements may be very different now than they were in 2013.  Undecided

I randomly checked a few of these on ACE and they were current. I forgot all about Propero since the Alternative Credit Project went under. Is anyone still using Propero? $330 per course

They have some CJ courses that are not available elsewhere, but that's probably it.
