Brand new - looking for courses similar to Modern States

Most people say you can't obtain credit through them without prior knowledge or getting a separate book and studying. So I think Modern States seems a lot quicker than other courses.

That said, I think OnlineDegree.com is great. There are quizzes throughout which count significantly, but that's a good thing, in my opinion. Since the final exam is low pressure. The videos can be somewhat time-consuming but usually very well done, especially the courses that use The Great Courses videos.

I don't think Sophia has videos, or not for many of the lessons, but otherwise I think they are fun and quick for test-takers.

Thank you so much - lots of great info

Study.com has video animation and transcript for each lesson.

Thank you for sharing that.  Seems like I just missed some of the great discounts that Sophia was offering at the end of 2019.  Their courses are more expensive than some of the others, so it would be great to get a discount on some of them.  Would anyone happen to know how often those discounts roll around or is that just a once a year thing?

As far as I know big savings are rare. However w/ each course comes a $50 discount for the next. So after the free course (essentials conflict/effective teams) you could do a small course (student success) for free, there are also some other smaller/cheaper courses. Coupon HalfOFF is available (running quite some time now), 3 courses at 50%.

onlinedegree.com is pretty much all videos. I find the quizzes confusing though. But it is free until you need to take a final so there is that great advantage to decide if you like it or not. I haven't finished a course yet, because I get tired of watching videos after a while.

Sophia had better be careful with the prices or they’ll be the nest Ed4Credit.

SL does not have any videos, at least in any of the classes I've taken there.
Study.com has videos for each module (they're like 8mins long).

Good luck on your journey - this can be as quick as you want it!

Thank you for that information.  I am seeing there is a way to get a study.com discount via a referral.  Would you happen to have one to share?

If you PM me your email address, I can send you one. Don't post the email address in the reply or the whole Internet can see it.

I did use your referral code.  THANK YOU!!!

Also thank you to others who posted a link to my private messages area.  I am a newbie here, so I did not realize that some users may post it directly to my private messages area, so I only checked my email for the referral link.   I did sign up, but I am not getting the full $20 off from the referral, nor did I get the REFER20 discount.  I am going to start a new thread regarding this because I can not get a response from study.com either

I took two SL courses. One had no videos and one did - so might not be able to generalize.
